Japanese Akita’s are different from the typical grey/black american version.
Beautiful Dogs.
Hachiko returned to the station every night at the same time for 10 years!!!!
This is a true story the Japanese were so proud that In April 1934, a bronze statue in his likeness was erected at Shibuya Station and Hachikō himself was present at its unveiling.

I have just seen this remake of the Japanese story, and even though I didn’t see the original movie, I feel that Hollywood did a good job. The soundtrack was amazing and really touching! Additionally, they even mention at the end some facts about the real Hachiko, and show a picture of the bronze statue that has been built in honor of the dog in front of the Shibuya railroad station. I am glad they made the remake because I otherwise wouldn’t have known this beautiful story!!!

I agree with the others, I hope that this does not have the same consequences as 101 dals, snow dogs, marley and em etc etc because these dogs need an experience owner…
This trailer makes me cry every single time. The loyalty shown by that dog is inspiring.
watch?v=5L5QQUsm7l8 – the original movie ‘trailer’ is also worth a watch and will make you cry even harder.

Huh. This is very reminiscent of another true story – about Greyfriars Bobby, a dog in Scotland who would greet his master, who was a “bobby” – a policeman – every day at a train station. When his master died, the dog would sleep on his grave every night, but during the day he’d go back to the train station and wait for him. There’s a statue of Bobby at that train station in memory of him. Very neat story. It’s weird that there were two dogs that behaved like that.
